This is so true! And like they say black is beautiful. It's so sad when I hear black girls at my school say they wish they had hair like some biracial girl, Im like you should embrace your natural hair, it's unique and just as beautiful as the next girls. :( I've always loved myself, and unfortunately I'm just realizing the beauty of my own hair, so now I'm transitioning, but better late than never ....
... But never late is better (as drake would say)
I so understand what you mean Faye. I have never been one of those girls who stand in front and just pick at all the different things going on with my looks or body. Self hate is the predominate for women of color and I feel especially dark skinned women and I try to change that by being comfortable and confident with myself then I try to spread that around. I'm really happy that you're the same way!!
I too am transitioning and it is rough but a journey I'm enjoying.
