No Place Like Home

Most of the time when we see things happen to people on tv we sympathize but we never fully get it. That was me until I met Sandy last week. You may or may not know but I'm a girl from Queens, NY who loves her city!! I never quite understood what devastation meant until it accrued right here in my own backyard. Tuesday October 30th, my birthday was when the worst of the storm hit. Water from the Hudson river rose over the railings, trees that I climbed all of my childhood came up out of the ground with its roots showing, and the worst part of all.. people lost their homes and lives.

I ask that you make ANY kind of donation possible with Red Cross or any other charitable fund you feel comfortable with. If you're from NY or NJ give your time to help get our city back on its feet. If you're unable to donate old clothes, canned goods, or toiletries just keep us in your prayers. Thank you!!

Jacket, top, & skirt- ASOS, Necklace- Melody Ehsani, Shoes- F21

These streets will make you feel brand new, these lights will inspire you, lets hear it for New York!!

First off, I'm so glad to hear that you're ok! It's so sad to hear about all the damage Sandy has done & I'm definitely keeping the East Coast in my prayers. On a lighter note, that skirt is too cute & I'm jealous of your leather jacket :)

Hurricane Sandy came as such a shock - at least for me. I really didn't think that it was going to be so bad. But then it was...and the horrible news just came rolling in.

I'm so glad that you're okay! I hope that you and your loved ones were able to make it through okay.
